Interpreting Domain Name Check Availability Results

In order to know if a domain name is available for registration, you need to perform a Check Availability query.

Interpret the results of the Check Availability Report as follows:

Status Meaning
is available The domain name is available in this particular extension
is not available The domain name is not available in this particular extension
invalid domain name The domain name contains invalid characters or invalid number of characters
status unknown There is a loss of connectivity with the Registry of this particular extension
